Leyland Kirby returns to his Caretaker alias and prepares to put it to rest over six albums. Where 2011’s An Empty Bliss Beyond This World explored studies of Alzheimer’s patients and music, Everywhere At The End Of Time marks the beginning of the Caretaker project’s fictional descent into dementia. Kirby crafts similar soundscapes, editing Jazz Age 78s into loopy ambient passages that suggest a heavy, dreamlike state. Big band horns are stretched into the abyss and give the sense that you’re sitting on a sun-drenched porch after a few too many mint juleps.
